The treasure of biodiversity
The biogeographical Chocó is the ideal place to find colorful frog species, characterized by its high rainfall and its diversity of habitats, including tropical rainforests, swamps and streams. These environments provide a large number of ecological niches where different frog species can adapt and evolve. Bright colors can help frogs blend in with the colorful flowers and leaves of the environment. The forests of this route allow you to go through different elevations, finding high Andean forests, rain forests, cloud forests and inter-Andean forests, each of them has a variety of unique birds, fauna and flora. The Chocó Biogeographic is a neotropical natural corridor that begins its limits from north to south, from Panama, in the Darien area, through the entire western area of Colombia to the northwest of Ecuador and ends its journey in northern Peru; this means that this corridor crosses the Pacific coast of four countries and in some it enters valleys, slopes and even the Caribbean coast. In Colombia, the biogeographic Chocó is present in the departments of Chocó, Valle del Cauca, Cauca and Nariño and a small part of Antioquia; This region is considered one of the places on Earth with the greatest biological richness and with a high level of endemic species.
